Community Service

Lakeview Quilters Guild serves our community through charitable activities involving quilting. Each year the guild selects organizations to receive and distribute quilts made by our members. We make quilts for selected organizations and we donate sundries to charitable groups.

Suggested Community Service Quilt Sizes

We gladly accept community service quilts of any size.
Using 8" squares (7.5" finished) the suggested sizes are:
6x8 = 45" x 60" (for The Rose)
5x7 = 37.5" x 52.5" (for children at Bay Area Turning Point)
10x12 = 77" x 90" (twin size for Brooke Army Medical Center)
These are suggested sizes but we will gladly accept community service quilts of any size.

For a printable page that has the standard sizes of community service quilts, refer to our Standard Sizes Reference.

For a printable page that has the size of backings needed for the standard-sized community service quilts, refer to our Backing Reference. Backings that have already been pieced, labeled, and put in a zip lock bag for use are especially appreciated!

If you would like to knit or crochet preemie hats for premature babies in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Galveston, see our Patterns for Premature Baby Hats.
