Teresa Duryea - lecture only. "Big Love" Texas Quilts

From the rotunda of state capitol in Austin, you can almost see some of the state’s six million acres of cotton farms.  Texas is the most concentrated cotton growing region in the world.  Texas is also chock full of people who love to make and collect quilts.  This lecture will illustrate the big love between these two worlds and explore the 20th century masterpiece quilts made by Texas farm women and city folk, including the quilts from the epic Texas Quilt Search that hung in the rotunda of the Texas Capitol in 1986.
